Blue Mariposa Press warmly invites you to the launch of The Bike, a literary novel by Jeremy Aitken.

The Bike is a work of witness. It explores addiction, survival, and the interior lives of people living at the edges of society - lives that exist in plain sight, yet are often unseen. The novel is less concerned with redemption than with recognition, asking what it means to truly look, to listen, and to stay with difficult stories without judgement.

This evening is not a traditional launch, but a conversation.

Alongside readings from the book, the event will feature contributions from Jill Chism, Far North Queensland local artist, and Dr Darren Walker (Central Queensland University), who will speak to the psychological dimensions of addiction, silence, and survival.

Together, we will reflect on storytelling as an ethical act - a way of bearing witness to lives that matter.
